Mira floating lighter

Wenger Mira Floating Lighter

I bought this lighter yesterday. This is a very interesting and nice product from Wenger. I measured the gas level yesterday to see if there is any leaking. The level is the same today and it working just fine. I took notice of the word floating because around water or on the sea this can be important. I tested it in water with the carbiner and lanyard on to see if it floats. It did float just fine and it did function right out of the water. No problem!

There are a few very interesting details on the Mira. The use of a double safety for the lid is smart and the lid is spring loaded when you set back the first safety and press the black button to open it.

This is a lightweight lighter for sure.

It is very easy to fill this lighter by just pulling out the module from the casing and follow the instructions. It is the best to set the module in the same way so the button for opening and holding the lid function the best.

I use high quality gas for the lighters because this will make sure it operates correct and that it does not clog up.

The number on this Mira is: L23.1035.03 and the red color is easy to see in the water.

The carabiner hook also got the double safety.

Jeg liker godt denne lighteren. Det er moro med mekanismer og produkter som er litt annerledes. Wenger satser mye på utendørs aktiviteter med produktene sine.

Level update

I have measured the gas level today to see if there is a difference in the level and it is no leaking.

It is a fun lighter with a very controled flame without any disruptions.

Gas level

I cannot see any leaking and the lighter is working very well.

Mira update

The Mira lighter can be adjusted from a smaller flame to a rather powerful one. Just remember that a Butane gas flame must be handled with care.

Observations update

Observations about the Wenger Mira lighter

This lighter is very gas effective and by this I mean it will on a medium mode be able to function for a long time with the gas tank. It is easy to fill up again.

Mira update

I got myself another Mira lighter for the collection. This one is almost completely black, only the lid button is red. I like the Mira construction and how it is made very much.

Information says that the Mira lighter works up to altitudes of 2500 meters.

It is easy to adjust or compensate the level for the flame.

The 120mm continued after the New Ranger. They had Patent and not pat pend. I say pat pend first then patent next. But! Wenger did many variations! :)

The old Ranger 120mm is from 1991, on my 1993 it is pat pend I have seen it on 1991 too and Swissbuck as well! Wenger can be a minefield because of variations

It is a superb question. Wenger used different stamps, some because of european laws. Usually the quality and steel is the same. Which is first? Not sure.
