Blackout

Here is a Wenger knife that i am very glad to finally have. It is the Ranger Blackout 52.P2 and also referred to as 52.X. All the Blackout PVD coated knives made by Wenger is a bit more collectable because of some factors. Because of the factors and that this 52.P2 is in a special box may say that it is a little extra collectable knife.

The design of this knife in my hand and how it is made is perfection for me. I cannot find any knife made that got such an eye catching feel. The full number on this knife in box is: AF.1.077.252.828.P2

Everything is PVD coated nicely on the metal and the precision on the construction is complete. It is no point with too many words but this is a Swiss product for sure! The cool factor is off the charts.

update

The weight of this knife is around 100 grams. The .X designation is for knives in the metal type box.

The PVD coated knives got advantages not only for appearance but also for the corrosion resistance and it will provide a dividing layer that is durable.

The locking mechanism is to prevent accidental closing only.

The 120mm continued after the New Ranger. They had Patent and not pat pend. I say pat pend first then patent next. But! Wenger did many variations! :)

It is a superb question. Wenger used different stamps, some because of european laws. Usually the quality and steel is the same. Which is first? Not sure.
