The SwissCard

Smart card!

I have had this Swisscard with me for a good time and the Swisscard is perfect to carry for almost everyone. In today’s world we have important laws and regulations regarding what is legal to carry. From the people I have talked with the Swisscard is regarded harmless. Even so it is up to you to decide.

I will write a few words about how useful it is. If you carry it in a wallet it is smart to have it inside a folder protected from coins and too much bending. I have tested it in a wallet for a year and no problems there as you see. Many times if you open a box or package with the hands you have to use brute force with the result that things comes flying everywhere. With this little blade big things can be opened nice and easy. The scissors can be very useful to cut a thread with comfort. Even today a pen is required when you write a message on a package or writing a note. Today people use smart phones but it cannot write a signature or message on paper. The tweezers can remove a splinter or to pick out something lost between materials or objects. The nail-file with the screwdriver tip can be a relief when you have to fix a fingernail or to adjust a little device. The functions I mentioned do not represent all the functions. On the picture you can see that it contains more nice things. Today the selection of Swisscards got many models. Models with magnifier and a small LED light too.

It would take all day to write about what the functions can be used for. The scissors cut paper with precision so it is up to the user and imagination.

I did not store this in a separate folder. I just used one of the folding compartments in the wallet. It is in perfect shape. In the outdoors one can carry or use almost any knives and tools. In public places it is very different because you need a reason. I know that people that use a suit need or carry the card format Victorinox solutions. In many ways these helpers represents the difference in the everyday life for people. I cannot say it is legal but as mentioned the people I have talked with have these as harmless, unless you take it out at bar or use it improperly.

17:36 SwissCards, 0.7106 Classic to the right

I have gathered some information on the durability on them and seen used cards and so forth. If people use some care they can last for many years of use. They are absolutely quality made. It was introduced in 1997 according to my information. On them the sliding lid could be the weak part. I have seen used ones with missing lid, Victorinox changed this design. I know that many people use the sliding lid models with good result. Not sure if this is to be found in the production anymore. The new open design that’s been around for a good time is better and it is secure.

14.11.2020 58mm category

The 58mm Classic SD is a little knife that can be very helpful. They are so small that they disappear in a pocket. Some use them with the keys. The scissors are very functional. The SwissCard and the Classic categories are not just for show. They are very functional. Not to forget very cool looking.

15.07.2021 Black 58mm Classic SD

This is my latest 58mm. It is in very nice used condition.

The 58mm Classic with screwdriver tip is small but for sure very relieving to have if no other tools are available.

SwissCards and the 58mm categories are still very functional and useful. They are relieving to have when you need a tool. Especially the 58mm models got so many nice designs too which is fun and welcome. Please look around my page and hopefully you will enjoy it here. This is a 100% free and independent webpage. I do not earn a dime on it. I am not rich and I have never been so either. I grew up around these waters which I consider good knowledge.

17.11.2021 Classic 58mm advert

Even the 58mm models are used for advertising purposes. You can find them with inlay or print. I got an interesting 58mm Classic to show you today and this is my latest knife.  It is in good used condition with a nice metal inlay in the scale. The scissors need a new spring but this is no hurry. The advertising is educating and also demanding to be fully sure about so far. The age on this little Victorinox could be late 1980s until early 1990s. Researching the web some possible sources for this advert arrived. The closest I have found until now is “norsk filatelistisk tidskrift”. This is postage stamp related if so. This is not certain 100% and I will do some more research and I am open for any suggestions on this.

The 120mm continued after the New Ranger. They had Patent and not pat pend. I say pat pend first then patent next. But! Wenger did many variations! :)

The old Ranger 120mm is from 1991, on my 1993 it is pat pend I have seen it on 1991 too and Swissbuck as well! Wenger can be a minefield because of variations

It is a superb question. Wenger used different stamps, some because of european laws. Usually the quality and steel is the same. Which is first? Not sure.
