Pliers are some of the most useful tools in the outdoors. Having such a device can save the
hands and fingers from injury and cuts. There are many obvious reasons for having pliers with you. I have experienced several times getting poisonous fish on my hooks. Without protective gloves you may have to step on it (with shoes)and pull the hook out by
force. This is not recommended so I use pliers and something to hold over and disgorge. Trachinus draco or Fjesing called here got some strong poison which is not deadly but can cause serious pain and in some cases hospital. They recommend using hot water
to neutralize the poison. Most people do not bring hot water with them that is ready at any moment. Therefore it is better to just take precautions when you get one on.

The biggest danger with Fjesing is when people step on it because it can be almost buried in the sand or bottom.
It is not often this happens. I get one or two on my hooks every summer. This means it is a risk you could get one too. When you release it back after hook disgorging you can see the beautiful colors on this fish. It is amazing! Today it is extra important
to be able to release fish after you catch it. Therefore pliers are important to bring along.
