D02 White

Here is a Swiza D02 i found in Sweden. It is a white model and it is very nice. It is the first white Swiza model in my hand. I was lucky to find some Wenger knife stands like the one used on this picture today. I can use them for picture purposes and for display. They are made of a solid plastic that is stable and very easy to use.  These i found in Norway......

If you look on my Swiza pages to the left you can read some more about the D02 models. I hope you will enjoy them.

Please take the tour on SAKhome.com and do not hesitate asking any questions on SAKs or Swiza knives.

17.01.2018 The blade

No matter what handle design or color you get it is the functions that is the most important.  Traditional Fenalår mmmmm tastes good and the blade cuts very well….

02.09.2021 Red D01 DNT

Cool logo and advertising

This is a Swiza knife which is extra nice and cool. This is a D01 DNT in red and this is for “Den Norske Turistforening” Translated into English it is “The Norwegian Trekking Association”

Their logo is nice looking and the D01 is not so different from the D02 on the top with Phillips screwdriver vs. the corkscrew for the D01.

It is a traditional outdoors organization for 150 years. There are more models with this logo.

On the backside of this knife there is some information about the second highest mountain in Norway called Glittertind with 2465 meters above sea. This is information I knew from before but not all know this and I enjoy educational advertising knives like these.

03.09.2021 Educational

Ok, now it is time for my educational part with this knife and on the web I discovered how DNT celebrated in 2018 the 150 years anniversary. This means we can add a few more years to this. It dates back to January 21 in 1868.

A long time ago my uncle invited me with him to see the Briksdalsbreen which is a glacier part. I never forget the incredible fishing we did too. When you see a glacier you can feel the history breathing. During the warm summer the wind brought some of the cool air from it.

Glittertind also got some glacier and this is also affected by changes in the climate and weather. When Glaciers melt things from the past can be found. History is unveiled! The area I live in the south of Norway got the national park called “Raet” It is a moraine and this is very interesting to me. When I am out in my kayak I am looking for some interesting things to see from when the Glacier carved the rocks and moved material around and forming this land.

10.09.2021 Sharpness

The Swiza knives are ready for use out of the box. The blade on the picture I have used for different things and I know very well how this steel works. I recommend using diamond coated sharpening devices. You can draw much extra sharpness out of them if you like the edges super sharp.

The 120mm continued after the New Ranger. They had Patent and not pat pend. I say pat pend first then patent next. But! Wenger did many variations! :)

The old Ranger 120mm is from 1991, on my 1993 it is pat pend I have seen it on 1991 too and Swissbuck as well! Wenger can be a minefield because of variations

It is a superb question. Wenger used different stamps, some because of european laws. Usually the quality and steel is the same. Which is first? Not sure.
