Today i received a very interesting new Swiss knife that i recently bought. It is the model TT05 Filix orange. It is one of the absolute latest innovations from the Swiza Company. Most of the functions
on this knife I have already shown here on sakhome.com. One of the functions is a bit historic because it implements a new function called Tick Tool and it is designed for removing Ticks. This function also has a nice magnifier that is helpful and it gives
a clear magnification that can be used for several other tasks. The complete tool is made of a flexible plastic.
We have much Ticks here in Norway and it can be a problem during the spring
until autumn several places. It is smart to check yourself when you get the chance because the sooner you can remove it the better. The best is to take a random overview to see if you have any. Lyme disease or Borreliosis is no joke, it can become serious.
I have picked many Ticks over the years on dogs but only a few on myself because I have been aware of it for several years already. I find them before it starts the process
of penetrating the skin. I check the dog often too and get a substance from the Vet. Even so it is unavoidable that some can manage to attach.
Since this tool is new I have not tested it yet but it’s already been tested by the Swiza Company. I will test it when I get the chance for sure. When the Tick shall be removed from the skin it is important to remove it completely.
The TT05 is a very nicely made Swiss Knife with several very useful functions for EDC, outdoors or any other interests.
The Filix
orange is very easy to see with the eye catching color shades.
With the paper information in the box you can see instructions on using the tools correct. I have a good quality feel of this
TT05.
Once again I am surprised on the rapid development of the Company that shows very clear impressions of reaching new goals.
From experience I know that if you use a tweezer for removing the Tick it can rip it in two pieces with the head still attached in the skin. With experience you learn to use the tweezers correctly and remove it completely. The tool on the Swiza knife
got a distinct angle called V-cleft. It is a much better solution compared to tweezers and you can pull out the complete Tick from the skin.
The tool is a translucent material and this is
most likely done to increase functionality both for flexibility and to be able to see well.
